The May Jay Shoulder bag

The Bag:

This shoulder bag is a big and spacious bag made with English Bridle leather (soft and supple) and an accent of a chocolate brown crocodile print leather (real leather, not real crocodile). The straps fit over the shoulder nicely (even my big shoulders) to carry under the arm, or the handles allow the bag to be carried easily by hand. Inside you’ll find a pocket in matching crocodile printed leather with a snap for security. Snaps, Rivets, and D rings are all nickel finish. The bag is held closed with a magnet closure across the middle. Thread is a waxed polyester thread and everything is hand cut and hand sewn. This is a higher-priced piece because of the quality of leather used and the large size of a hand-stitched item. Bag measures 14″ at the widest point and 6″ tall at the magnetic closure and is about 3 1/2 inches wide.

The Name: The May Jay is named for our dear friend May Endres, who we lovingly call MayJay. She stood up with my wife at our wedding, she’s at every major life

event we have and we love her to pieces. May also makes the most beautiful and delicious cupcakes that I’ve ever seen or eaten and her husband Dan is one of my besties who also stood up with me at our wedding. From time to time she even sells them to locals who are lucky enough to know how to reach her. We are frequent recipients of “extras” or “samples” and those are always good days. This just seems like the kind of bag that May would carry, it’s large and soft and it has curves – just like May. 🙂
