Description
This beautiful bag is made from premium full grain leather and hair on goat hide.
The goat hide is centered nicely, with the mane on the back allowing a slight overflow of the mane hair to overlap the leather on the bottom for a unique look.
The handle is double thick with a black accent on the underside of the handle. It’s fully glued, then hand stitched with waxed thread for durability and strength. It’s accented with back leather pieces where the handle attaches to the main body of the bag. The edges of the handles are well sanded, rounded and fully hand burnished so they’ll be comfortable in the hand, or over the shoulder.
Inside are two pockets, perfect size for a phone or a checkbook. They’re heat embossed with the Tiny Anvil Leather makers mark.
The flap allows a stylish closure of the bag without adding any metal hardware to the design and allowing the leather to fully be shown off to its fullest.
The bottom of the bag is double thick so the inside and outside both have a finished leather. The bottom is glued and hand sewn. Copper rivets were added for strength, and to serve as feet to the bag to provide some protection to it.
The sides are hand sewn and have three bronze eyelets through which hand cut matching leather lacing is threaded and tied for a nice accent touch.
This bag will serve its new owner well for years and years, and is likely to be a bag that can be handed down generationally.
For this bag CJ (the artist) stepped back from making bags to sell, and treated this bag as an art piece and something to make because he loves making quality leather – so no detail was spared. The hand stitching is some of the best he’s ever done and is even and creates a beautiful look that machine stitching just cannot compete with.
This is a truly one of a kind bag, not just because of the specific goat hide, but because of the love for the art that CJ was feeling while crafting this bag. There is over 2 hours of work in crafting each handle alone – because CJ wanted to get it right. He did.
